Meet your Finalists 7

Meet your Finalists 7…
There’s just over 24 hours to go! Excitement is mounting. Now to meet another group of players.

Karley Leavy plays her football with Boardsmill. She like Emma White played in the nail biting Minor All Ireland win against Roscommon. Karley has been part of the senior panel for a couple of years now. Karley made her debut against Limerick in 2017. She was unlucky to miss out on playing in last years All Ireland final due to an injury received shortly before the big day.

St. Patricks of Stamullen have Emma White as their sole representative on the panel. Emma made her Adult debut in 2017 against Down. Up to that Emma had played underage football and was a force to be reckoned with. In 2016 as a Minor Emma was presented with the Player of the Match trophy in the Leinster Final in Kinnegad. Emma was to play an integral part in both the semi-final and final where the Minors were crowned champions against Roscommon.

Fiona O’Neill – Dunboyne. Well this time last year Fiona O’Neill said ”this is it, I’m retiring from County football”. Everyone of course was sorry to see her go. She is one of the most prolific scorers in her club of Dunboyne and on the ladies team. But after much persuasion etc etc Fiona returned to the panel. She reckons she’ll definitely ”retire” again this year! We shall see!! Fiona was part of the Dunboyne team that won Junior and Intermediate All Ireland titles in 2015/17. Fiona made her debut in 2009 v Fermanagh. Fiona is another of our famous teachers!

Niamh O’Sullivan plays her club football with Royal Gaels and made her debut for Meath in 2008 – but her footballing career started way before that – at school in 1999. Niamh played county football for a while before taking a break but returned a number of years later. Niamh had the honour of being Meath Ladies captain in 2017 and was the envy of all the captains that went before her when she lifted the Leinster Intermediate Cup. A first for a Meath Ladies captain in a long number of years. Niamh took a break this year but has now returned to the fold once more. Niamh is also a teacher.
