Bridgetta Lynch made her county debut in 2011 against Waterford. Jetta as she is known far and wide played underage football and has an All Ireland U16 title from 2009. Coincidentally Eamon Murray was the manager of that team also. Maybe a good omen for Sunday! Jetta plays her club football with Oldcastle and was part of the Oldcastle team that won their first senior Championship in 2017. Bridgetta took a few years out of county football to study but thankfully has returned to the fold this year. Bridgetta is a pharmacist!
Another long time servant with Duleek/Bellewstowns is Orla Byrne. Indeed with her sister Kate she made her Adult debut in 2012 against Monaghan. Orla trained over seas as a teacher but when she returned she made it her ambition to be part of the squad once again. In the last few year Orla has cemented her spot on the ladies team and has scored and made plenty of scores along the way. Orla was part of this year NFL winning team.
Duleek/Bellewstown long time servant Kate Byrne made her county debut in 2012 against Monaghan. A girl with a firm belief that Meath Ladies are worthy of an All Ireland Championship title. Kate was part of the Meath Ladies team that got to an All Ireland Semi Final in 2017 narrowly beating Clare by a single point. Kate maintained on the day in a post match interview that Meath probably were the only county who believed they would beat Clare on that day. In 2015 Kate was made captain of the Meath Ladies side. A very hard worker on and off the pitch. Kate trained as a nurse but later turned her skills to teaching. Kate was part of the 2017 Leinster title winning team and this years NFL Division 3 team.
Mary Kate Lynch is one of a long line of Minors waiting to make an impact on the Senior team. Mary Kate was brought on to the panel this year after her great displays with the minors who reached an All Ireland A Semi Final. Mary Kate plays her club football with Summerhill. She has yet to make her debut but all I can say is ”Watch this space!”
